The "Whoa!" Factor

One of my friends in California recently got engaged. She moved away after eighth grade, but we’ve all (from our little group) stayed in touch with her. Anyway, she’s engaged. It’s so amazing. And so....weird. I mean, when the first person from my high school class got married, it was really very weird, but not as weird because I wasn’t really friends with her. But now...Now one of my best friends is getting married. That hits home. So the wedding is next June, and she’s asked the four of us (the four who keep in touch from our group) to be her bridesmaids. I’m SO excited!!!!! I just hope she picks a good color...Hehe.

I'm sure most people know what I'm talking about. It's like when the first person gets engaged and married from your high school class, almost everyone freaks. Not just because they're all excited, but because of what that means for them. If one person from your class gets engaged, it means that you're going to also. You don't know when, or even who, but you know that it's going to happen. It brings that stage of your life to the forefront. You've FINALLY reached it. Somewhere, in the back of your mind, you knew it was coming, but now that it's finally here, it's like "WHOA!" You keep thinking to yourself, "Omg, I'm at this stage of my life. I'm REALLY at this stage." And it just blows your mind. G-d knows it's blown mine.

Speaking of dating, engagements, and marriage, I’ve started dating someone. Yes, me, I know. Sometimes I can’t believe it myself. But it’s going very well so far. So well, we’re even talking marriage and children. Granted though, that’s at least two years away. But still. For the first time in my life, I feel like my life in finally on track (school, job, family, love life, etc). Finally heading in the direction it’s supposed to head. And it’s so nice.

Calvin-Isn't it weird? Yeah, I know. We've had this discussion MANY times before, and we'll probably have it a couple more before you leave. I look foward to it. ;)
