Ever run into one of those big orange signs on the road that says "Detour" and then an arrow pointing in the direction of the detour? Of course you have. And when that happens you probably do the same thing I do: swear a lot but continue. It's life, it happens.
But what about a detour on a different kind of road? The road that is your life. How do you deal with that? Those detours are not so easy to go around. They can halt you right where you are with no arrow pointing in the direction you are now supposed to head. What do you do? Do you just sit there, staring at the sign (as invisible as it is), or do you pick yourself up and find your own arrow?
I've run into a lot of detours in my life. I wish I could say that I stopped, thought about what to do, and did it. But I didn't. Not always. There were many times where I just sat there, staring at the sign, not knowing what to do or where to go. I couldn't even think about how to handle the detour, and sometimes, I didn't even want to. It was at those times in my life that I was in the passenger seat and someone else was driving. It was also those times when I needed that person to drive. I needed that person to find that arrow for me and start me in the right direction. It was only then that I was able to get into the driver seat and do the driving, finding the arrows on my own.

Yay I am first so glad you updated. Yup definitely encountered many detours. It usually is difficult to just stop and look usually i am forced to do something about it. May you only have good and fun detours from now on:).
yay you finally updated yay. now for the record i swear a lot when i come to both kinds of detours i also find that locking yourself in your car in a deserted parking lot and screaming yourself hoarse can work too. anyway so wow thats really deep i actually have a poem on this exact subject that i wrote in israel a year ago i will try to post it for you but since i probably wont have enouph time maybe you should just call me when you get a chance and i can read it to you. anyway keep driveing safely and you will make it to your destination in one peice. ttyl

Aviva,Can you talk to your parents? Can they help you get back on track? Are you in a rut or a huge detour.Sounds like you do need some help.
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood and sorry i could not travel both and be one traveler long i stood and looked down one as far as i could to where it bent in the undergrowth...
life's full of these tough choices. it's hard, but believe in yourself. you'll get through it.
when i was a young boy my father took me into the city to see a marching band he said son when you grow up will you be the saviour of the broken the beaten and the damned he said will you defeat them your demons and all the nonbelievers cause one day i'll leave you a phantom to join the black parade will you carry on? cary on carry on carry onnn
wow it's tough coming after 6000 years of billions and billions of people and trying to say something original. i think most of the good saying stuff has been said before
Jill,
Hey! I totally know what you mean. One never knows where life will lead him. Scary as it is, I guess that is why we just have to believe that everything happens for a reason and that everything will be o.k. Sometimes it is very hard to think about that, but it is something that many people, myself included, need to work on.
If you ever want to talk about your detours give me a call. I sure call you enough about mine. I hope you have a good day and that we talk soon. Love ya.
